Preparation
Epoxy floors don’t fail.
Poor preparation does.
When a coated floor lifts, peels or picks up under tyres, the coating is almost never the problem. The problem is what it was asked to stick to.
The coating is only the visible layer. Underneath it is a slab that may be sealed, dusty, still carrying an old coating, or moving moisture through it — and none of those let a new system bond properly. Preparing the concrete mechanically is how that gets dealt with.
It is the stage nobody photographs, the stage a cheap quote leaves out, and the stage that decides whether your floor is still there in ten years.

Process
How a job runs
Five stages, no surprises. The third one is the one that matters.
01
Tell us about the floor
Call, or send the form and text us a couple of photos. Photos help us understand the existing floor and the preparation it is likely to need before we turn up.
02
We assess what it needs
A free on-site look at the slab — its condition, any existing coating, cracks, and how the space is used. You get a written read on your concrete and a fixed price, whether or not you go ahead with us.
03
Preparation comes first
The slab is mechanically prepared so the system has something to bond to, and cracks are repaired where appropriate. This is the stage that decides the outcome.
04
The flooring system goes down
The coating is applied, flake is broadcast if that is the finish you have chosen, and a clear topcoat seals it in.
05
Final handover
We walk the finished floor with you before the balance is paid, and tell you when it is ready to use.

How much does epoxy flooring cost?
It depends on the size of the floor, the condition it is in, how much preparation it needs, the finish you choose and where you are. Double garage floors start from approximately $2,450. We give you a fixed written price after looking at the slab, and we do not publish a per-square-metre rate we cannot stand behind.

How long does installation take?
It varies with the size of the floor, its condition and the weather — preparation on a difficult slab can take longer than the coating does. You get the timeline for your floor in writing with your quote rather than a general figure here.
How long does an epoxy floor last?
A properly prepared floor lasts for many years. We are not putting a number on it, because the honest answer depends almost entirely on the preparation underneath and how the floor is used — and because we have no written warranty terms to point you at yet.
Is epoxy flooring slippery?
A smooth gloss finish is more slippery wet than dry. A flake floor has texture through it, which helps. Tell us how the space is used and we will talk through the finish that suits it — it matters more outdoors and on slopes.
Do you repair cracks first?
Cracks are repaired where appropriate as part of preparation. A repair stops the crack being an open path through the coating, but it does not change what the slab is doing structurally and it can still be visible. We tell you which is which before you commit.
What preparation is required?
That depends on your slab — its age, whether anything has been applied to it before, how it has been used, and whether moisture is moving through it. Establishing that is the main purpose of the free on-site assessment, and it is why we will not quote a floor from photos alone.
Can I choose colours or flake finishes?
Yes. Flake comes in blends — greys, creams, tans and mixes — and solid colours are available too. We bring the options to the on-site quote so you can see them in your own space and light.
