Why coatings fail
When a coated floor lifts, peels or picks up under tyres, the cause is almost never the coating itself. It is that the coating was put onto a surface it could not properly key into — a sealed slab, a dusty slab, a slab with an old coating still on it, or one with moisture moving through it.
Preparation is how that is dealt with. The slab is mechanically prepared rather than just cleaned, so the new system has something real to bond to.
Cracks
Cracks are repaired where appropriate. We are deliberately careful with that wording: a repair stops a crack being an open path through the coating, but it does not undo whatever the slab is doing structurally, and a repaired crack can still be visible in the finished floor.
We would rather tell you that at the quote than have you find out after the job.
What you get either way
The on-site assessment is free, and you get our written read on the concrete whether or not you go ahead with us. If the honest answer is that your slab needs something we do not do, you will be told.

The coating is the visible layer. What decides whether it lasts is the slab underneath it — whether it was sealed, dusty, already coated, or moving moisture. Preparing it mechanically is how a system gets something real to bond to.

About concrete preparation & crack repair
Do you repair cracks before coating?
Cracks are repaired where appropriate as part of preparation. A repair stops the crack being an open path through the coating, but it does not change what the slab is doing structurally, and it can still be visible in the finished floor. We tell you which is which at the quote.
What preparation is required on my floor?
That depends entirely on the slab — its age, whether anything has been put on it before, how it has been used and whether there is any moisture moving through it. It is the main thing the free on-site assessment is for, and it is why we do not quote from a photo alone.
